HPE WINS BIG AT 2018 ABC EXCELLENCE IN CONSTRUCTION AWARDS!

October 22, 2018

Last week, Team HPE was proud to take home three awards last week at the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors (ABCRMC) annual Excellence in Construction Awards! The awards event celebrated the exceptional work of ABCRMC member companies and was held at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in Lowry, Colorado, on October 19th.

At the awards event, HPE received both an Excellence in Construction Award and a Special Recognition Award for LEED Construction for our Colorado College Tutt Library project, a $45M carbon-neutral, net-zero-energy renovation project which sought to achieve modernization of the existing 1926 building—one of the oldest academic libraries in Colorado—by incorporating high-tech, energy-efficient systems to help achieve the college's goal of having a neutral carbon footprint by 2020. HPE began the project on August 1, 2016, and had less than ten months to complete it before the start of Colorado College's Fall, 2017 class schedule -- for HPE, achieving the college's goals involved a degree of complexity our company had never seen in helping the college achieve its net-zero energy goals.

In addition to the project awards, HPE President Kelly Eustace, ABCRMC board member, was also honored with the 2018 'ABCER of the Year' Award -- and our Tutt Library project has also been submitted for ABC National Award consideration!

The ABCRMC award winners were selected from a total 28 total submitted projects by a panel of ten industry experts who awarded points in several categories to determine the winners. We're proud to be in partnership with ABC Rocky Mountain and are honored to be recognized; hats off to our entire Colorado College Tutt Library team for your fantastic efforts resulting in these awards!
